NAEP SEPTEMBER 19, 2012 WEBINAR ANNOUNCEMENT 

USACOE PERMITS AND ASSOCIATED WATER QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS:

REGULATORY CHANGES PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 401 AND 404 OF THE FEDERAL CLEAN WATER ACT


The next National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP) webinar, “USACOE Permits and Associated Water Quality Certifications: Regulatory Changes Pursuant to Sections 401 and 404 of the Federal Clean Water Act,” is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19th, at 1:00 p.m. ET. The presenters are Mr. Chris Hunter and Mr. David Olson.

 

The Webinar will include discussions of:
(1) the re-issuance of the USACOE Nationwide Permits effective March 19, 2012;
(2) the May 9, 2012 Updated 2012 National Wetland Plant List and its applicability to obtaining Nationwide Permits;
(3) water quality certifications required to support USACOE Individual and Nationwide Permits; and
(4) a summary of the USEPA handbook entitled, “Clean Water Act Section 401 Water Quality Certification: A Water Quality Protection Tool for States and Tribes”.

Duration: Event will last 90 minutes

Mr. Hunter is the team leader for the Program Operations Team within the Wetlands Division within the Office of Wetlands, Oceans, & Watershed at the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington DC. He has worked in the Clean Water Act Section 404 program for the past 8 years, working on a variety of wetland and stream permitting issues, including coal and minerals mining, commercial developments, transportation projects, compensatory mitigation, and ecosystem restoration.

 

Mr. Olson has been a regulatory program manager at the Headquarters office (Washington, DC) of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers for 10 years. He has worked for the Corps since 1991, first as a regulator at the Baltimore District, and currently his work focuses on the Corps’ Nationwide Permit Program, Clean Water Act jurisdiction, and compensatory mitigation.
